Santa visits

Santa and his elves were busy this year! Can't wait to see Kelsey and Dante reaction to their presents from Santa.

Cookies for Santa

Kelsey said bye to Buddy and helped put out cookies and milk for Santa and his reindeer.

We are so happy to all be together and getting ready for Santa to come.

Going home

Dante had a good night so they are letting us go home. We are so excited to be with Kelsey again too!

One more night

Dante has had a major improvement and his breathing has been great all day. We are going to spend one more night so we ensure Dante does well in a deep zen sleep. Hopefully home tomorrow.

Room 303

Dante continues to improve, so they turned off his oxygen, heart rate and o2 monitors. He seems to be holding his own but needs to be closely monitored to confirm he's well enough to go home. And, Dante found his hands so there is a lot of loud hand sucking going on. Looks like he's getting his appetite back!

Back to the other side

After most of the day in the picu, Dante got cleared to go back to a regular room since he was showing good improvement. His iv also had to be removed since it started leaking and he was not a fan of that!

Mommy got the cot (not sure why Daddy complained about it during our maternity stay bc she slept great in it)  and Daddy got the couch. 

Cousins Sleepover

Kelsey had the time of her life with her cousins. She slept with Thomas, who saved her(her fingers) from falling off the bed lol. She enjoyed playing blocks, dipping her chicken in ketchup, watching a movie and laughing with Ryan. She said to thank Uncle Joe and Aunt Dana for letting her come over!

Food and eyeballs

Dante couldnt have been happier to be cleared to have food again today.He spit back out the pedialyte they tried to give him(all over daddy) but sucked down his milk with no problem. As the respiratory nurse said hes a chunky monkey so food will absolutely help him feel better. This was also the first day he opened his eyes and was awake for a few hours. Hoping he continues to get better.

Rsv days

Dante had one big episode last night but once they got his breathing under control he started doing better. They put in a tube through his nose in case they need to feed him through it, since our poor man hasn't had any food since Christmas Eve. But hes still holding onto his 17lb frame.  He hasn't been up for more than 5 minutes but they said sleep is the best thing to help him get better.

Hospital Christmas

Unfortunately Dante needed to move into the PICU so they could give him more oxygen and get more staff to help him through the worst days of rsv. The nurses liked his hat and were great with upping his treatments and keeping an eye on him. Mommy and Daddy will always remember our hospital Christmas dinner and not being all together. We hope its the only one we will have!

Merry Christmas

Kelsey enjoyed LaSalvia Christmas at Aunt Nina and Uncle Nick's house. She is blessed to have such a great family. Although Mommy, Daddy and Dante really missed her.

My First Christmas

Dante had a rough night, we had treatments and tests every 30 minutes. He was a trooper bringing in holiday cheer with his first Christmas hat, although he never expected to wear it at the hospital. They decided around 6am to move him to a different room so that they could give him more oxygen.

Finally a room

After many hours in the ER, we finally went upstairs to our own room. Dante was lucky bc Santa dropped off gifts for all kids who were in the hospital. What a nice surprise from Morristown hospital.

LaSalvia Christmas Eve

Kelsey had an awesome time at Uncle Joe and Aunt Dana's house celebrating Christmas Eve. Such fun playing wi th her cousins! She was also happy to have a sleepover with Grandparents La!

Christmas eve

It was a much different year celebrating the holiday this year. Our poor baby boy Dante had to go to the hospital. He has rsv and pneumonia. He was such a trooper in the ER getting jabbed 5 times before they were finally able to get an iv in. He did well taking his chest xray as well.

Kelsey was smiling even though she's been sick but seems to like using her nebulizer and getting her massage afterwards.

Hanging with my babies

While Daddy is at happy hour and out shopping, Mommy is hanging with her two sick babies having the time of our lives :). Dante might be in his 5th outfit of today. 

MSS recap

From "drawing to writing" was the theme at school this week. Kelsey drew using crayons and laced pipe cleaners with cheerios. They sang holiday songs and decorated mittens using pom poms and paints.

Our new Pastry Chef

Cioci outdid herself, making Dante's pastry chef hat for his first cookie day! Watch out for next year's Italian cookies that he'll be making!

McGowan Cookie Day

Aunt Kim hosted our 2018 cookie day at her new home. Cioci's baking toy set was the hit for Kelsey, who helped us bake pretend cookies all day long. Aunt Janet decked out Kayleigh and Dante in their first cookie day outfits. Of course there was lots of laughs and baby noises at this year's festivities. We all can't believe that next year marks the 10th annual cookie day!

Leo's Party

Kelsey loved the gymnastics party for Leo, especially the trampoline, slide and parachute. She had so much fun with her friends Leo, Liz and Amelia and only fell off the blocks once. Dante slept thru the entire party of course!
